Missions

We are a missions oriented church.

The early church quickly began sharing the Gospel to those from other nations. In fact, one of the marks of the early church was people from various ethnicities and tribes worshiping in unity together. At Harvest, we are intentional about sharing the Gospel at home and abroad. As people come to faith, we want to support them through building churches, discipling believers and providing resources to help them grow in their relationship with Christ.

Meeting the need of world evangelization.

Since 1952, our church fellowship has helped those in need in Charlottesville and around the world. Today, we support missionaries and missions projects on 5 continents. Through the help of the Holy Spirit and the generous giving of our congregation, we are putting down wells in Sudan, supporting seminary students in Peru, building local churches in the Dominican, providing medical supplies in the Philippines, and doing work in many other areas of the world. In addition, right here in Charlottesville, we regularly minister to inmates in the Albemarle Regional Jail, help unwed mothers choose life, and provide care for those in need.

These efforts represent an expression of love toward Jesus and are done with the joy of telling others about Him.

One of the last things Jesus shared with His disciples before He went to heaven was to spread the Good News around the World (Matthew 28:19).

At Harvest Church of God, we take that mandate seriously.

The need to plant churches and send missionaries is an urgent task.
